The creation of most renewable energy projects requires an understanding of the “multiple stakeholder” nature of energy supplies. Governments often provide finance or incentives but the end user is usually an investor, utility or community group.

Projects are often split into two phases, the construction phase and secondly, the operational phase. This also implies different stakeholders and successful projects must be developed taking these particular interests into account.
