Wind Diesel Control

OPS has several years experience in designing and developing Wind Diesel power systems. These are aimed to achieve high levels of wind and solar contribution to the energy demand.

Key features are:

  • The hybrid controller and battery are usually installed at the diesel power station.
  • The power system can operate with the diesel gensets turned off to maximise the wind and solar contribution.
  • The wind turbine and solar PV array with its inverter can be installed on the grid but remote from the diesel power station.
  • A data / comms link between the two points can be used for system control.
  • A fail safe control system will be deployed on the system with local control at the turbine.

The HPC, as a central aspect, offers technology with advanced power IGBT’s, phase balancing, bi directional power control, wifi, internet connection and robust marine design.
