Solar Chargers

OPS has a range of high power solar input regulators. Our MPPT Charge Controller consists of several input channels supplying a single output feed to the battery bank. Control of each of the channels is accomplished by a single microprocessor based control system that will maximise the power from the three separate PV arrays into the battery bank. These can control solar PV arrays from 25 kW up to 250 kW.

A front panel LED indication panel provides information on the operational status and any faults that may occur during normal operation. Front panel metering of the battery voltage, individual string current and total charge current into the battery is included.

Communications with the MPPT Controller is via a RS232 link. All system set points, operational and fault status can be accessible via this MODBUS port.

The PV input and battery feed for each channel can be isolated via a single circuit breaker.

The principal features of the MPPT Charge Controller include the following:

  • Maximisation of the power from the PV array regardless of the battery or DC link voltage
  • Ability to precisely control the charge voltage and current into the battery bank to ensure that the required battery manufacturers specifications can be met.
  • Software controllability of system settings and monitoring of the operation

Very small regulators from 12 Volts 10 amp are also available from OPS. Please enquire for further details.
